The new HP Indigo 100K was supposed to be unveiled to the world at the Drupa in mid-June which has been postponed. HP teamed up with Onlineprinters to optimise the latest member of its Indigo family for a successful market launch.

Few people knew that the HP Indigo 100K had been up and running in the digital printing department of the German production site of Onlineprinters in Neustadt an der Aisch already since August 2019. HP engineers partnered with the digital printing experts of Onlineprinters to put the new machine through its paces in preparation for market launch.

After the trial phase, Onlineprinters purchased the HP Indigo 100K. "This technology partnership has given us the opportunity to thoroughly test the machine. We were inspired by its high speed, consistent quality of print, excellent usability and ease of maintenance," says Jürgen Winkler, Director Operations at Onlineprinters.

The online printer has continuously expanded its digital printing section in response to the changing purchasing behaviour of customers who have been ordering shorter print runs more frequently for several years now. "Ordering a year's supply of brochures is a thing of the past, mostly because content needs to be up-to-date," Jürgen Winkler continues. Onlineprinters estimates that by 2021 around half of all orders will be produced using digital printing technology.

Graphic designers and creative agencies with a keen eye for quality are one of the main target audiences of the company. "Making no compromises on quality has always been our credo. To achieve this, we have relied on technology leader HP and its HP Indigo family as well as homogeneous machinery from the very beginning, also in offset printing," Jürgen Winkler continues. In addition to the PSO certification for offset printing and the in-house post-press department, the digital printing section of Onlineprinters is certified according to PSD (Process Standard Digital Printing).

"Continuing our long-standing successful partnership with Onlineprinters, we started to test and optimise the HP Indigo 100K together with the Onlineprinters team in a real production environment before the actual product launch. And it has been a success!" explains Markus Weiss, Regional Business Manager HP Indigo and Inkjet, HP Germany GmbH, and he adds: "Onlineprinters was impressed by the HP Indigo 100K in no time at all. The system prints on a wide range of different substrates inline without the need to interrupt production. This is an essential requirement when it comes to efficiently processing a variety of orders with maximum flexibility."
