New Structure for Paperworld 2013

Paperworld will branch out in new directions next year and, with the interactive ‘my inspiration’ campaign, is being given a new look. However, the leading international trade fair for the paper, stationery and office supplies sector is not only developing in visual terms. The next Paperworld at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre from 26 to 29 January 2013 will also be distinguished by a new structure and thus give the market even more opportunities. The new product-group arrangement and the change of halls at the Exhibition Centre are the result of numerous discussions with exhibitors and an analysis of the visitor survey.

“As the organisers of the world’s biggest trade fair for the paper, stationery and office supplies sector, it is our duty to generate new impulses for this market and meeting place, and to develop the fair in line with future demands. Changes of this kind are a source of new inspiration and opportunities for the business of our exhibitors and visitors”, says Ruth Lorenz, Vice President, Consumer Goods & Leisure. The new plans will also enhance the profile of the individual product segments and take account of visitors’ needs by providing thematic assistance for their assortment compilation. Additionally, the position of the individual product groups to each other will be optimised. “Thanks to the new arrangement, the product groups harmonise even better with each other. Moreover, the exhibition space occupied remains unchanged so that Paperworld is and remains the biggest international trade fair for the sector”, adds Ruth Lorenz.

New hall layout enhances the profile of individual product segments

The school articles product segment moves to Hall 5.0 from Hall 3.1 in 2013. As an independent theme, products for the school and training will attract greater attention and cover a complete hall floor with, for example, satchels, pencil cases, exercise books and calendars, as well as the entire range of articles for children starting school and licensed products. Additionally, the close proximity to gift articles and albums in Hall 5.1 will generate positive synergy effects. There, exhibitors show a broad range of products including stickers, diaries and letter-paper sets that also appeal to young target groups.

In future, manufacturers of writing utensils will make their presentations in Hall 4.0 and benefit from the central location at the Exhibition Centre. Moreover, the close proximity to Creativeworld, which moves from Hall 4.2 to Hall 4.1, offers numerous points of contact for retailers’ assortment compilation. Thus, in addition to manufacturers with high-grade ranges, visitors will also find products such as coloured pencils in the new exhibition hall. “Writing utensils will be shown as an independent entity in Hall 4.0 and thus be upgraded within the overall framework of the fair”, says Michael Reichhold, Paperworld Director.

The complete range of office supplies will be concentrated together on two levels of Hall 3. To this end, the office supplies product group moves form Hall 4.1 to Hall 3.1. Additionally, IT accessories and Remanexpo will transfer from Hall 4.0 to Hall 3.1. This amalgamation will be of particular benefit to paper manufacturers who will make their presentations together in the same hall. For improved orientation, office supplies and Remanexpo will be separated spatially by product groups.

The combination of product groups that have moved and those that remain where they were will create a new and interesting supply-side structure at Paperworld.

Manufacturers of gift articles, albums, writing-paper sets, diaries, greetings cards and picture calendars will continue to be located in Hall 5.1. Opposite, in Hall 6.1, exhibitors will present exclusive stationery articles, such as paper, leather goods and accessories. A level lower, in Hall 6.0, visitors will find gift-wrapping materials, paper and serviettes. As in the past, Hall 10.0 is reserved for the Asian High Quality Selection while national participations are located in the two floors above (Halls 10.1 and 10.2).

Complementary programme with additional benefits for visitors

The special shows and lectures of the complementary programme have been popular among both visitors and exhibitors for many years. They are an important part of Paperworld’s ‘my inspiration’ strategy and will continue to be part of the fair in 2013. One of the highlights is the Trend Show curated by the designers of bora.herke.palmisano, which interprets the trends of the coming season using future-oriented products supplied by Paperworld exhibitors. Innovations are also to be found in the promotional area where young companies can make their first trade-fair presentation and show visitors their new products and ideas. Paperworld is also a careers launching pad for the finalists of the greetings-card design competition, which celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2013. For the third time, the ‘Asia Design Excellence’ special show in Hall 10 presents design-oriented products from the Far East and gives visitors the chance to discover the innovative spirit prevailing in the region. The focus of the Paperworld Forum is on new products, trends and sector-specific information. There, experts discuss subjects of topical interest – from sustainability to sales strategies and assortment compilation.

“With its varied and informative programme coupled with the new structure Paperworld 2013 offers exhibitors and visitors new perspectives of the leading international trade fair and, therefore, new inspiration and success for their business”, says Michael Reichhold.
