The ink is the latest addition to Marabu’s UVRS and UVSF ranges, which the company will also be exhibiting at its stand (stand Q80, Hall 11). Marabu will be showcasing selected solutions with its partner Paragon, who will be available to answer visitors‘ questions about its UV flexo inks offering. Marabu has also prioritized the development of LED UV inks for flatbed and rotary screen printing. And now the company is ready to market its finalised formula – after successful tests with several industry partners.

Drawing on 60 years’ experience in developing inks, Marabu has now produced UVSF 174, the first low-migration screen-printing ink – in response to strong demand for low-migration solutions. “Our new pre-print white is silicon-free, glossy and suitable for combined UV rotary screen and flexo printing. It is perfect for overprinting with UV inks, and, at machine speeds of up to around 60 m/min, meets all given requirements such as drying and adhesion,” says Pascal Iffland, Product Manager at Marabu. This low-migration screen printing ink is eligible for inclusion in Group 1A of the EuPIA Photo-initiator Suitability List and complies with the Swiss Ordinance on Materials and Articles in Contact with Food (SR 817.023.21).

Proven performers over many years, the UVRS (UltraRotaScreen) product range will again be a feature at this year’s Labelexpo. These inks are suitable for overprinting using UV letterpress and offset printing. What’s more, they offer excellent adhesion on a wide range of substrates, making them suitable for bulk packaging. Marabu’s UVLB 1 and UVLB 2, which have been proven to fulfil criteria for printing braille, also will be on show as well as Marabu’s Ultrapack UVC (high gloss) and Ultrastar-M UVSM (velvety matte) screen printing inks – great for flatbed label printing. Roll-to-roll flatbed printing delivers perfect results for high-quality wine and cosmetics labels.

Visitors will also see special effects – collection of samples. In the form of a fan, this collection presents a wide spectrum of special effects that can be conjured up with Marabu’s screen and pad printing inks. It contains more than 100 types of special effects, grouped in categories and complete with information on pricing, delivery times and printing parameters.
