Goal of the meeting was to establish a Polish Carton Makers Association. The meeting took place in a very good atmosphere with around 30 persons attending, and the reactions of the participants were very positive. On behalf of ECMA, Rogier Krabbendam (Communications Manager) and on behalf of Pro Carton, Suzanne McEwen (Head of Marketing) presented their activities to promote the industry and to advocate the interests of the European Folding Carton Industry.

It was great that some of the participants already volunteered to be actively involved in the establishment of the new organisation. Mr. Olaf Kacperski from MMP Neupack Polska and Mr. Marek Roszak from Edelmann Poland have taken up the challenge to take the lead.

Where do we go from here? After this promising meeting it’s important that the Polish carton makers agree on the mission and key objectives of the new organisation and to find more volunteers and committed members to support the initiative. Where possible ECMA will closely support this initiative and keep in personal contact with the volunteers who have taken the lead.

Within ECMA the national converter associations actively work together to make each other stronger and to bring more benefit to their members. ECMA invites the new Polish converter association to join ECMA, and to work together representing the folding carton industry throughout Europe.
