KBA’s successful 16-page C16 for Russia

MDM-Print near St Petersburg is one of Russia’s biggest and most prominent print enterprises. Its ambitions are reflected in a long reference list of upmarket magazines and brochures with circulations ranging from small to high-volume. And success has proven the efficacy of a strategy based on quality, cost efficiency and a keen environmental awareness. Now the company has invested in a cutting-edge 16-page KBA C16 with the aim of expanding capacity.

The KBA C16 was not purchased on an impulse. What clinched the matter was its impressive performance at an open house in Geldern last November, and a mature press concept based on intelligent automation. The C16 is the only press on the market which combines low production costs with environmentally friendly technology. This is partly achieved by press controls that streamlines production by automating press run-up and run-down, dramatically cutting waste, and partly by the ability to dispense with alcohol additives, which slashes solvent emissions.

The C16 boasts the fastest automatic plate changers on the market, which along with LogoTronic shorten makeready substantially. It also features the automatic roller bearings which are unique to KBA. These optimise roller settings and thus guarantee consistently uniform printing conditions while minimising maintenance input and reducing energy consumption.

The practice-proven LogoTronic Professional software mentioned above allows multiple KBA presses, both sheetfed and web, to be networked together. It converts production and administration data into meaningful statistics, while the capture of press and operational data provides much greater transparency at the control level.
