Autobond Installations in Russia

Autobond is continuing to see strong worldwide sales following the two installations of its machines in Russia. Synergy and Perfectum have installed a Mini 76 TH and a Mini 76 SD TP respectively, reaffirming the UK-based laminator manufacturer’s growing global reputation for building reliable machines that enhance a company’s productivity and capability to deliver high quality lamination and add value to print.

Synergy, based in Moscow, was founded in 2001 and specialises in the production of advertising products such as brochures, catalogues, flyers and POS items. The company was looking to increase the quality and efficiency of this production, as Albert Khersonskiy, Deputy General Director of Synergy, explains: “The decision making process took a long time. We did our market research and wanted to be certain we had the right machine to meet market demand and move our business forward.”

Already an Autobond customer – in 2010, Synergy installed a Mini 76 T – the search saw the company reinvest in an Autobond. “Autobond’s machines are famous in the Russian market for having the right combination of price, quality, productivity and small footprint to integrate into any business and handle any job. This is what we were looking for with the Mini 76 TH.”

Powered by a Heidelberg Speedmaster stream feeder, the Mini 76 TH can laminate twice as fast as the Mini 76T, with speeds ranging from 60 to 80 meters per minute, which is ideal for medium to long run work. Khersonskiy concludes: “It delivers great quality work efficiently and enables us to expand our revenues. Furthermore, the print shop we sold our old Autobond machine to is also very happy!”

Located in Cheboksary, North Russia, publishers Perfectum– who produce soft-copy and hard-copy books, magazines, catalogues and other forms of commercial print – has installed a Mini 76 SD TP. Leonid Naumov, director of Perfectum, explains the company was attracted to the machine’s versatility: “We saw a demonstration of the Mini 76 SD TP and were immediately impressed by the agent’s detailed and intelligible demonstration of the machine. We knew it could handle the wide range of jobs we were receiving from our customers. It is important in the publishing industry to be able to do small to medium jobs to deal with the unpredictable demands of customers in order to remain profitable, which is something this machine allows us to do.” The thermal-film Mini 76 SD TP incorporates a Heidelberg-Stahl suction drum feeder and has perfector capabilities for two sided lamination, handling media widths of up to 76cm x 102cm and speeds up to 45 meters per minute.

Vladimir Olivson, Director of Supplyland – Autobond’s distributor in Russia - comments: “Even in these tough economic times, the Russian market is growing. Customers are looking to add finishing to their services portfolio and lamination offers a profitable way of doing that. As Synergy and Perfectum have shown, it isn’t hard to sell an Autobond machine; their design build, quality, productivity and flexibility deliver everything a printer needs to meet the demands of their customers and to thrive in a competitive industry.”

John Gilmore, Managing Director at Autobond, concludes: “This has been a great year for Autobond. Since drupa, we have been inundated with orders from all over the globe. Like the rest of the world, the Russian market understands that added-value print is a powerful commodity. Long may it continue in 2013.”
