Atlantic Zeiser at interpack

Omega 20/25 and Smartcure Air curing system are being demonstrated by the leading provider of technology, module and system solutions for industrial DoD digital printing at Atlantic Zeiser stand (hall 13 at stand C12) at interpack.

The specialist requirements of the pharmaceutical industry is just one sector Atlantic Zeiser Group’s latest portfolio addition, the compact combination of Omega 20/25 printing module with air-cooled UV LED curing system Smartcure Air, has been developed to excel in. The compact design Omega 20/25 printing module and its unique air-cooled LED curing technology Smartcure Air, also features powerful inline integration components for marking, coding and serialising in late-stage customization, as well as product track & trace and anti-counterfeiting. The air-cooled UV LED curing solution does not require any additional cooling units or coolants and thanks to the ability to harden printing ink at speeds of up to 60m/min, it has a space-saving design too.

Developed for horizontal and vertical printing the Omega 20/25 readily covers printing widths between 20mm and 25mm. This is the maximum printing width for adding markings and variable product and production information, such as contents, expiry dates, warning notices, usage and consumption notes and different languages, to pharmaceutical packaging. The demand for lower printing widths of 20mm to 25mm is based on the installation options available on existing packaging lines at pharmaceutical producers. As these are generally large-scale systems, there is very little space for marking and coding integration modules which is why a compact design is crucial. The spot colour DoD inkjet printer also offers machine-readable coding of the packaging materials with the corresponding information as barcodes or 2D data matrix like GS1. Check codes are printed and can be used for product tracing and are ideally suited to tackling the growing grey market in the pharmaceutical sector. Also on demonstration at the event is another DoD inkjet printing solution for late-stage customization – the Omega 210 on a White-Line from MediSeal GmbH.
