Upakovka/Upak Italia has established itself as the outstanding platform for making and maintaining business contacts in the Russian packaging market – the 20th international trade fair for packaging machinery, packaging production and packaging material is taking place in Moscow from 24 to 27 January 2012. Ideas and solutions for all branches will be exhibited once again at the Expocentre fairgrounds – the spectrum ranges from food and drinks to cosmetics and pharmaceutical products to chemical and consumer goods. There will be a special focus on the market for converting and package printing at the upcoming trade fair. The demand in this segment has already shown strong growth in recent years, not least due to new regulations concerning the labelling and identification of products. That is why, starting in 2012, there are two new focal points in the product categories of Upakovka/Upak Italia. This will enable suppliers of machines and plants for finishing packaging materials together with suppliers of technologies for manufacturing packaging materials and of machines and plants for printing packaging materials to raise their profile.

This year’s anniversary event is characterised by a high demand for exhibition space among international companies in particular, while the number of Russian exhibitors has stabilised at last year's high level. Upakovka/Upak Italia 2012 is organised by Messe Düsseldorf GmbH and its Russian subsidiary Messe Düsseldorf Moscow in cooperation with the Italian event organiser Centrexpo. The presentation by the exhibitors will be complemented by a one-day seminar, at which professional visitors from the Russian packaging industry have a chance to intensively explore current trends in the sector. The positive synergies with Interplastica, Russia’s leading trade fair for plastics and rubber, have been demonstrated over many years now. Altogether more than 800 exhibitors are expected at the trade fair duo, which complement each other perfectly in terms of product range and target visitors. The two events will occupy a net exhibition space of more than 16,000 square metres.
